Meet your specialist

Hello, I'm Dr Sam.

Obstetrician, Gynaecologist & Fertility Specialist

I'm Dr Sam Purcell, an obstetrician and gynaecologist practising on the Gold Coast, with a particular interest in fertility and reproductive medicine.

Whether you're planning a family, navigating pregnancy or seeking answers to a gynaecological concern, I'd like you to get to know the person caring for you.

Care that starts with listening.

Every patient has their own story, concerns and goals. I believe it's important to take the time to understand these before making decisions about their care.

I want you to understand your options and feel comfortable asking questions, including when something isn't clear or a treatment doesn't feel right for you.

Working across fertility, obstetrics and gynaecology lets me get to know patients at different stages of life, sometimes from their earliest conversations about starting a family through pregnancy and beyond.

A little about my background.

The person behind the scrubs.

While medicine is a huge part of my life, there's plenty that keeps me busy outside the consulting room.

I'm a family-first kind of person, and nothing is more important to me than spending time with my beautiful wife, Angie, and our two dogs, Teddy and Rosie, who certainly keep life entertaining.

I'm happiest when I'm travelling and exploring somewhere new, whether that's chasing snow on a snowboard, spending time by the ocean or discovering a new corner of the world.

I'm also a big rugby league fan and love the opportunity to switch off, enjoy a good game and spend time with the people closest to me.

For me, life is about finding that balance between doing work I genuinely love and making the most of the moments that matter outside of it.
